The Top Dos and Don'ts of Lawn Care

Do you know why most American households prefer to pay landscaping companies in West Palm Beach to maintain their lawns? It's because they know how tedious lawn care is. There's so much work involved to maintain a beautiful lawn.

Nothing is more heartbreaking than doing everything you can to make your grass thrive, only to see it wither and die. If you want to maintain the lushness of your lawn, there are a few things you have to remember. The following are some of the most basic dos and don'ts of lawn care.

Lawn Care 101

Do Mow Regularly

Mow regularly. Every lawn needs to be mowed regularly. This is probably one of the reasons why homeowners prefer to pay professionals. Mowing can be physically taxing, especially if you have a massive lawn. Our recommendation is to do it at least once a week. In addition, mowing helps stimulate healthy grass growth.

Don't Make It Too Short

Be careful when you're cutting your grass. The ideal grass height is between 3 and 3.5 inches. Going below that can compromise your root system and prevents your grass from absorbing nutrients and water.

Do Water Your Lawn Regularly

Just like mowing, watering your lawn can be physically exhausting. But, if you want to keep your grass healthy and thriving, you have no other choice but to do it. If you don't water your lawn, your grass will turn yellow, and it'll dry up.

As much as possible, water your grass lawn at least once a week, but if you live in a place that has a dry climate, we suggest you water it often.

Don't Overdo It

Don't overdo the watering because if your lawn gets more than enough water, the root system will be compromised, and your lawn will be susceptible to fungal growth. Only water your lawn for ten to 15 minutes. If puddles form, lower the intensity rate.
